When I began this class I was under the impression that essentially all that would be required was basic photoshop classes. It was to my surprise that not only were we going to cover a multitude of different digital media tools, but that we might get a glimpse into what these different careers might actually look like. Since I didn’t have a clear goal in mind when enrolling in this course I chose to find a couple of local graphic designers and try to achieve a better understanding of what a career in this field is like. One incredibly inciteful professional was Francine Platt with Eden Graphics, Inc. Like many graphic artists she had a creative talent that she put into practice doing things like designing posters for friends, family, and church. Since BYU had a design program she pursued that idea as a career and ended up going with that as a major. This seems familiar with many people who study or pursue a career in something that has something to do with art, in that so many of them have a passion for art in some way and they put that passion into practice. Drama Play Essay The script is about a 25 45 (yet to be decided) year old alcoholic called Harry Slezington. He is actually drinking a bottle of bourbon in the opening scene. Harry has big nights and goes for mystery drives when he is drunk, avoiding the busy traffic so he can clear his mind and party in his car for that extra bit longer before he goes home to his boring girlfriend/wife. He is a courageous man and his life isnt that good so he likes excitement and things that make his heart beat. He is a bit of a sleaze and attends the local strip club regularly. The images become clearer and more solid toward the end. He tries to talk to a girl that pushes past him but she disappears into a room and he opens the door to find it empty. The next girl that he meets is sitting on some stairs in the house, she seems surprised to see him so soon and he asks where the owner is. She says hes upstairs, the highest you can go Harry runs around and finally finds the man upstairs sitting down tapping away on a laptop with the name block GOD on his desk. Harry is very angry when he finds out that there is no phone and accuses the man of living in a brothel because of the number of girls in the house. She was a goodlooking sheila and good old Harry would have taken her home, if he knew where shed gone, if he remembered what she looked like and if his boring wife wasnt home. Suddenly while Harrys mind is travelling so does his car, straight into a tree, he tries to swerve but its too late and everything goes black. Harry feels no pain shit! he breathes as he climbs out of the wreckage. He looks down the street hoping that someone would come by. Little Prince When the narrator was 6 years old, he drew a frightening picture of a snake eating an elephant. All the grown- ups thought that the picture was a picture of a hat. The narrator grow up, without drawing any other pictures and became a pilot. One day, during a flight over the Sahara Desert, his plane had an accident and crashed. On the first night when the pilot was asleep he heard a voice asking him to draw him a sheep. He woke up and saw the little prince. After a few days the prince told the pilot his story, where he came from. He discovered that the prince is from another planet. The pilot thinks he came from B-612. He also told the pilot that he has a rose on his planet. His rose caused him sorrow because he works hard for her but she didn't say anything nice for return. One day the prince decided to go on a trip. On the first planet lived an old king. The king wanted the prince to stay and become the minister of justice. The prince didn't want that job and he left to the next planet. On the second planet he meet the conceited man. The man wanted the prince to admire him. The price thought the man is too strange so he left the planet. On his was he meet a businessman, a tippler, a lamplighter and a geograph. The little prince arrived to earth and meet a snake. The prince asked the snake where the humans are but the snake didn't answer. The prince walked in the desere and found a flower. The flower told him that there are only 6 or 7 humans on earth. After a few days he meet a fox. The fox teaches the prince something very imortant: that the most improtant things are hiding from the eye. That was the end of his story. On the 8th day of the pilots crashe the water went out. The both found a well and that well saved their lives. The next day the pilot saved the prince's life when he saved him from a snake. During those days the pilot managed to fix the plane. On the last night the prince started to go home. The pilot followed him and he saw him leaving. The prince couldn't take his body with him so the body died and his spirit left earth. Six years later, and the pilot hasen't seen the prince again.
